One of my favorite parts of visiting CA is being outside. I am so jealous of all the outdoor activities they have. Of course, you can go to the beach, but the hiking trails…oh my. There are so many! And they each are so gorgeous in their own way. I said over and over again that I would be in such good shape if I lived there because I would be hiking so much. Pretty sure I lost a few lbs on my last trip.
Adam was such a trooper! He carried Penn, who is around 27 lbs or so, in that pack the whole way. I don’t know how he did it.
A couple iPhone pictures from the hike…
Los Angeles Hike – The Wisdom Tree
This hike was the hardest, for sure! We had to pick Mallory up from LAX Sunday morning so we decided to do a hike while we were there. We had heard about the hike to The Wisdom Tree and decided to give it a try. It a was labelled moderate and I was told by a friend that it was strenuous but short. OH MY….I can’t image what hard is in their minds and I don’t think I ever want to know. This hike was steep, very rock and the trail was really small. It was totally worth it though!
San Onofre Beach and Dana Point
This day we did an easier hike down to San Onofre Beach. This hike had breathtaking views! The only downside of this hike was once we got to the beach we were walking on rocks and no sand so that made it a little hard on our feet.
Mallory got to meet the Pacific Ocean for the first time! ❤
We also hiked a couple short trails in Dana Point that were just as gorgeous. We even saw a few whales spray! So neat!
Our last hike, and my last day in California, was back to San Juan Capistrano since Mallory and Taylor didn’t get to go the first time. We took a different trail this time but ended up in the same place. Walking through all the yellow flowers was amazing. Pretty sure at one point I was dancing and singing “The hills are aliiiiivee, with the sound of muuusiiiccc!” haha
Now i’m back in Indiana and it’s cold and rainy and i’m desperately missing being outside. If you live in Orange County or LA and you don’t get out and hike on a regular basis you are really missing out.
