So it’s no secret that my love for my nephew is so huge. Like, I never knew I could love someone so much. Seeing him change over the last year has been one of the best things i’ve had the experience of watching. He is just a little sponge! He will repeat everything you say and will definitely tell you his opinion. He is the best talking two year old i’ve met…and i’m not just saying that because he is my nephew. You seriously can carry on a full conversation with him. That is kind of a double edged sword because he is quick to tell you “NO! That’s mommys! That’s not yours!” Haha. It’s pretty hilarious but I know that the fact that he loves saying NO is driving his parents crazy. That’s a typical two year old though right?
He also is very sweet. He knows your emotions now and is quick to say “LaLa sad” 😦 And then your heart just breaks. He now will pat you on the back when he gives you a hug and it is just the cutest.
If you missed my blog about his birth please catch up here.
And if you would like to read my post from his first birthday you can do that here.
This year I know my sister was worried because they are now 2000 miles away from most of our family and all of their friends so this birthday celebration would be a little different. The up side to this was we got to celebrate at Disney Land! Because that’s just what you do when you live in California and have a birthday! Thankfully my sister had my uncle and his family, me and Penn’s nanny from back home all there to celebrate. 🙂
The night before Penns actual birthday we celebrated with cake, ice cream and presents at home.
These are my favorites. Love him blowing out the candles!
The next day we were up and getting ready to head to Disney! I made sure Taylor and Adam let me know before they got Penn up. Love this video. Not the best, but hey, i’m not a videographer!
I got kisses from the birthday boy 🙂
Of course as soon as we buy our tickets and walk in it starts raining. I will admit, I was a little upset, like almost in tears upset, because this day was supposed to be perfect and dangit i just paid $100 to get in and it’s just not as much fun in the rain!
While it was raining we rode a couple indoor rides and went to see Mickey! We had prepped Penn for this and he was so excited to meet Mickey. He would tell everyone “My birthday coming up, I meet mickey!” We showed him pictures of Mickey with others and told him how big he would be but none of that mattered. Penn hated the characters! In his defense it was kind of overwhelming. The music was terribly loud, there were a ton of people and it was just sensory overload! Maybe next year will be better.
Finally the sun decided to show it’s pretty face!!
Penn was obviously amazed by It’s A Small World.
We all really loved Dumbo! Penn loved being able to control it going up and down.
I was worried that we wouldn’t get to see Disney at night because Penn wouldn’t last that long but thankfully he took a nap in his stroller and trucked along in to the night. I love Disney at night…it really is magical!
Happy 2nd Birthday my love! I hope Disney was all you dreamed it would be! I can’t wait to see what the next year brings but please try to slow down on the whole growing up thing. It’s going by way too fast!
