my new bff.
This will be the best story I will ever tell…the day my favorite little man was born. Taylor was going to be induced on Friday morning so I secretly drove down to New Albany Thursday night because I have been having horrible nightmares that i would miss the birth. If i would have told Taylor and Adam that was my plan they would have yelled at me (they have me on a tight budget). Friday morning I had no problem waking up. It was the day! Things were going to start and I didn’t want to miss a second.
Day 2 of labor started with a text from Adam at 5:26 am saying things were progressing and to head to the hospital. another text at 6:09 am said i think it’s time for you to be here! Then a little bit later the go for me to come in the room. I am forever grateful to my sister and bro-in-law for letting me be in the room to capture this amazing day.
To be honest, i was nervous! I was quiet and stood of to the side because I did not want to risk getting in the way. I watched, in awe…. My sister had been laboring for over 24 hours with no pain medicine at all! Watching her go through the pain and working through the contractions with Adam was the most amazing thing. They are such a great team and work so well together.
The worst part about the whole thing was seeing my sister in so much pain. I desperately wanted to be able to do something to help her. Adam and her doula, Brenda, were amazing. They got her through the really hard parts and were awesome!
After about 20 minutes of pushing the baby was here! Taylor was PHENOMENAL during pushing. Once again…I was in awe. In between pushes she was so relaxed and focused and during each contraction she got at least 4 good pushes in. I kept saying she was like super woman, and that is not exaggerating at all!
Nobody knew what the baby was going to be so we were all saying “what is it! ” and then Adam proclaimed…IT’S A BOY!
The next big question was the name…Taylor and Adam were the only ones who knew what the name was going to be. Adam then tells us all “Pennington (Penn) Patrick” I was in love! One of the nurses said it sounded like a presidents name. I agree! It is so unique and i just love it!
The next job on Adams list was telling everyone the great news! I wish i could bottle up the joy in this moment and save it forever.
The rest of the day was spent visiting with family, baby’s first bath and measurements. 🙂
And then we had our first little photo shoot 🙂 auntie was in heaven
Day 2 of Penn’s little life was filled with lots of visitors from friends and family. This new family of 3 is so lucky to have some pretty awesome people in their lives to love and support them. They say it takes a village to raise a child and this little man has an amazing village of people to love him!
umm yea….he’s gotten about 5,000 of kisses already
Day 3: It was finally time for this new family to head home! We did a few more photos of the wonderful family of 3 before heading out and my wonderful bro-in-law took some pictures of me and my sista with Penn. I’m so thankful that he wants to learn how to use my camera and likes taking pictures. That means I actually have some photos of me with the babe 🙂 I’m forever grateful for these.
Pennington’s first caught on camera smile to dad 🙂
The next step was taking baby boy home to meet his big sister Barley! 🙂 They are such a cute family of 4 now.
And lastly, my last few moments with my sweet nephew before I had to leave. It was terrible leaving him. He was fussing and I just wanted to swoop him up and make it all better. I miss him already and can’t wait to see him again next week. This little man sure does have a lot of power because he has me completely head over heels for him in a matter of days.
The best 4 days have come to an end…it’s back to work for me tomorrow and lots of prayers for the new mom and dad as they adjust to having little man around. I can’t wait to get to know this amazing boy and watch him grow.
My precious baby boo. So happy he is finally here!
